1. About the site

Spay it Forward is a sponsorship platform that lets visitors help fund spay surgeries for rescue cats. The site lists cats currently in need, shows updates, and allows manual-payment sponsorships through rescue-provided payment methods (Cash App, Venmo, and card payments when available). All payments are processed by the rescues listed on the site; Spay it Forward is not itself a payment processor or veterinary provider.

2. Account creation

You may create an account with an email address and password, or by using a phone number and one-time passcode (OTP). You must be at least 13 years old to use this site. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for all activity under your account. Please provide accurate contact information and update it if it changes.

3. Sponsorships and payments

When you sponsor a cat, you are making a voluntary payment to the rescue that posted the cat. Each rescue manages its own payment instructions and payment approval process. We do not guarantee that a specific cat will be spayed by a particular date, and sponsorships may be refunded or declined by the rescue if the listing changes or the payment cannot be verified. Once a payment is approved, the rescue will mark the cat as sponsored and use the funds toward the cat’s spay care.

4. SMS and text-message terms

By checking the SMS opt-in box at checkout or during sign-up, you consent to receive text messages from Spay it Forward and the participating rescue(s). These messages may include cat updates, sponsorship reminders, and other rescue-related notifications.

• Consent: You are not required to opt in to SMS as a condition of using the website, except where a phone number is used to log in. Login OTP codes are one-time messages sent only at your request.
• Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on rescue activity and may be several messages per week during active campaigns.
• Message and data rates: Standard message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier. We are not responsible for carrier fees.
• Opt-out: You can stop receiving promotional text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. You may also opt out in your account settings. Opting out does not close your account, but it will stop non-essential SMS.
• Help: Reply HELP to any text for support contact information.
• Carriers: Supported carriers include major U.S. mobile providers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• Privacy: Your phone number is stored in your profile and used only for authentication, payment notifications, and messages you have opted into. We do not sell phone numbers. See our Privacy Policy for more details.
• MMS: Some messages may include photos or other media (MMS). A phone that supports MMS is required to view media.
• Participating rescues: If you opt in, the rescue you are sponsoring may also send messages through the platform. You may receive messages from different rescue names depending on which cat(s) you sponsor.

5. Privacy and data

We collect only the information needed to run the site, process sponsorships, and communicate with you. This includes your display name, email address, phone number, payment proof screenshots, and sponsored-cat history. We use secure, industry-standard services to host the site and store data. Profile data is protected by authentication and row-level security.

6. User conduct

You agree not to abuse the site, harass rescues or other users, upload false payment proofs, or use the platform for illegal purposes. We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts that violate these rules.

7. Changes and updates

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be posted at this page, and the “Last updated” date will change. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the new terms.
